Colorful Spring Indiana Wedding

Shelby + Luke

may 7th, 2023

What a perfect spring wedding day for the incredible Mr. and Mrs. Hastings!!! These two planned the most beautiful and colorful wedding day that was centered around family, FUN, and the love that they share. The day began with all hands on deck making sure everything looked perfect while the bride and her bridesmaids finished getting ready. Shelby’s mom helped her into her dress before she headed to the ceremony site to meet Luke for their first look. It was so special and intimate as their favorite song played over the speakers and they shared private vows immediately following the first look.

One of my favorite details from their day were the mismatched bridesmaid dresses! This trend is so much fun and these girls absolutely nailed it. Not to mention, the entire wedding party was a blast and it was so cool to see what amazing friends surround Shelby and Luke. The ceremony was beautiful as the two shared communion together immediately after exchanging vows. After the ceremony, their reception began and it was pure FUN the entire time!!! Before the wedding, Shelby kept telling me how excited she was for the dance floor and my goodness it did not disappoint! This was the most amazing day for these high school sweethearts!

Spring Tennessee Wedding in the Appalachian Mountains

Jordan + Nick

march 18th, 2023

I am truly speechless at just how incredible this day was for the new Mr. and Mrs. Staffieri!!! But first, let’s start with the night before! Jordan and Nick invited all of their guests to spend the weekend on property at Sugar Hollow Resort nestled in the Appalachian mountains outside of Johnson City, Tennessee. It was such an intimate venue with some of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen, and so special that everyone could be there for the weekend and spend lots of quality time together, which is exactly what this couple envisioned. It rained the entire time of the rehearsal, but that didn't stop this crew from having an incredible evening.

The skies cleared and made for the most perfect wedding day for these two! It was chilly but not too chilly, and the view of the mountains was just perfect compared to the cloud coverage from the night before. Their day began with a big wedding party breakfast all together at the lodge where the wedding party was staying. It was so sweet for Jordan + Nick to spend the morning together before going their separate ways to get ready.

After getting ready, they had their first look on the deck overlooking Lake Watatuga with the most breathtaking views. They exchanged the most intentional gifts— from Nick, a bible with Jordan’s new name monogrammed on the front and from Jordan— a series of almost 100 letters she wrote to Nick leading up to their wedding day. The ceremony was beautiful and the smiles that these two had on their faces after being pronounced husband and wife were priceless, seriously the most authentic joy!!!!!!

The ceremony transitioned into cocktail hour and then the most iconic reception dance floor! This crew did not stop allllll night long and it was SO. MUCH. FUN!!! Not only was the dance floor unreal, but after the sparkling exit these two drove away in their getaway car and headed to the lodge where they popped champagne and celebrated the ending of the most perfect day.

Needless to say, this day was amazing from beginning to end and I especially loved the way that everyone got to be together on this beautiful property for the weekend. Enjoy a snippet of their day below! Here’s to forever as Mr. and Mrs. Staffieri!!!!!!!

Spring Indiana Wedding at The Sixpence

Rachel + Brady

march 11th, 2023

It was a magical day for Rachel and Brady to officially become Mr. and Mrs. Abel!!! These two started their forever on a chilly, yet perfectly sunny day at the Sixpence in Whitestown, Indiana. This is a newer venue that has the perfect natural light, bright white walls, and spaces intentionally designed with weddings in mind. Rachel and Brady couldn’t have chosen a more stunning venue and their decor really just brought the entire vision to life!

Some of the sweetest parts of their day included Rachel and her girls staying overnight on the homestead property at the Sixpence and starting their day with chick-fil-a and a bomb playlist!!! The guys got to get ready in the workshop which was truly the coolest grooms room I’ve ever seen. Brady’s mom came to pin his boutonniere on him and they shared the most precious moment before heading to the first look. In the bridal sweet, Rachel had a really special bridesmaids reveal as the only one who had seen her dress prior to this day was her mom!

During their first look, Rachel and Brady exchanged handwritten letters with one another and then took some super fun bride+ groom portraits before being joined by their iconic wedding party for a champagne pop + even more fun. This crew was a blast (and included one of my 2021 brides, Molly)!!!!

While the weather didn’t permit for an outdoor ceremony, indoors at the sixpence perfectly transformed into a dreamy ceremony space. During cocktail hour, they flipped the room just in time for the most creative wedding party entrances and of course a super hype dance floor!!!!! This day was a dream come true + I absolutely loved capturing it. Scroll through the photos for glimpses of their big day!

Downtown Indianapolis Surprise Proposal: A Monument Circle Engagement

savannah + garrett

march 4th, 2023

I always love photographing proposals— the anticipation, giddiness, and pure joy of it all makes it so incredibly fun. This proposal was extra special to me because my brother in law proposed to his girlfriend and it was the absolute sweetest day with family and friends!

Garrett surprised Savannah by proposing in downtown Indianapolis at Monument Circle. He also had her family, his family, and some of their close friends watching from nearby. After the proposal she was surprised everyone who flew and drove countless hours to be there and plenty of happy tears were shed (hence all the sweet hugging photos!!!). Savannah facetimed a couple of her best friends who weren’t able to be there and their reactions were priceless.

One of my favorite details was that Garrett had her engagement ring designed to be similar in style to the promise ring he had gifted her years earlier. It was such a sweet full circle moment and the attention to detail was so intentional! Not only that, but he also bought press-on nails (in her favorite color of course!) to pop on for a few photos since her nails weren’t done. How freaking sweet is that!!!

After the proposal, everyone headed to a local bar to celebrate and then the families had dinner at a nice restaraunt downtown! Once it was dark out we had to snap some fun flash photos in front of the monument too— what an amazing day!!! Cheers to forever you two!

Elegant Winter Wedding at Daniel's Vineyard

Baylee + Devyn

february 26th, 2023

I don’t even know where to begin in describing just how beautiful this day was! Baylee and Devyn tied the knot in an indoor ceremony at Daniel’s Vineyard, a beautiful winery right outside of Fishers, Indiana. This day was extra special for me since this is the same venue my husband and I got married at, & it felt like a bit of a walk down memory lane! I could seriously go on and on about just how amazing this couple is and the way they care for one another. You know when you’re around a couple and you can just FEEL how much they love one another? That’s Baylee & Devyn.

There are endless highlights and unforgettable moments from their day but one of the things that stands out the most is the weather! We were blessed with a beautifully warm sunny day, and if you’re familiar with Indiana in February… that certainly isn’t the norm! To top it all off, the evening ended with a perfect sunset during their newlywed photos. What a dream!!!

Other magical parts of their big day included the details, they seriously did not miss a single one! From her flat lay details to the rose petals and candles lining the aisle, to the beautiful florals at the reception, and a personal favorite— cocktail napkins with their dog Rocky on them, it was all outstanding.

I especially loved the fact they had Rocky at their ceremony, their choreographed first dance (that they practiced out on the ceremony pad at Daniel’s during their couple photos!), and the champagne tour pour!!! To end the night, these two drove away in a vintage Rolls Royce getaway car. I couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect day for this amazing couple! Cheers to forever, Mr. and Mrs. Underwood!

Romantic Ohio Winter Wedding

Romantic Ohio Winter Wedding

Jessica and Matt tied the knot in a romantic winter wedding at an absolutely beautiful church. I traveled up to Van Wert, OH to capture these two on their best day ever. Jess and Matt are two people who genuinely know how to make everyone around them feel so seen and so loved, and this day was no exception to that. With over 300 guests, the love this couple radiated for their family and friends was so evident.

What's Your Favorite Book of All Time?

What's Your Favorite Book of All Time?

Because of quarantine, I’ve had so much more time to read lately and I’m loving it! If you knew me when I was a kid, you knew I could always be found with my nose in a book. I took one with me everywhere I went and was truly obsessed. That love for reading didn’t just disappear as I got older, I just got so busy. Now that I’ve been reading more, it sparked an interest in what other people would call their favorite book of all time.

I am so excited to finally be sitting down and writing out all the details of the BEST DAY EVER! I am so beyond pumped to marry my best friend and he truly could not have planned a more perfect proposal! Joe knows I am not someone easy to surprise but he went to great lengths to ensure this was the best weekend ever.

100 Things to be Thankful for Today

100 Things to be Thankful for Today

Growing up, my family always had a tradition that revolved around the month of November. This tradition has been in place since I was a little kid, and while I’m in college now, I still try to continue this in my own way. For every day of November, we would write something that we are thankful for up on the chalkboard on our pantry door. By the end of the month, the board would be filled with things that we had to be thankful for.

For Claire.

For Claire.

Everyone grieves in different ways. I’ve always best processed my feelings through writing. While there are absolutely no words that can fix a situation as tragic as this, in writing this post I am choosing to try and find joy and celebrate the beautiful, impactful life that Claire lived.
