I keep going to start this blog post and find myself at a loss for words because Molly and Alex’s day was just that special. As a Greenville, South Carolina wedding photographer I am always anticipating the joy and celebration that is going to unfold on a wedding day and Molly and Alex’s day delivered that tenfold. It was classic, joyful, faith-filled, and so incredibly personal from start to finish.
And I haven’t even mention the backstory yet!!! Their families have been friends for over 40 years and Molly and Alex didn’t even meet until Molly’s sister started dating Alex’s brother. Their love story is truly one like you watch at the movies or read about in books.
There are so many moments from this day that I never want to forget.
The night before, the wedding party gathered for a rehearsal dinner at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Greenville. It was such a beautiful way to kick off the weekend together and in one of the most stunning spaces! And then the wedding day itself was split between two incredible venues with the ceremony occuring at Grace Church Downtown and the reception at The L.
Molly got ready and looked like an absolute vision in the most beautiful gown from Dressing Room South, with her hair done by Hair by Haley and makeup by Sophia Gray! Before the ceremony, she and Alex chose to share a private first look and exchange personal vows just between the two of them, and y’all, Alex saw her and I genuinely had to hold it together behind my camera his reaction was so sweet.
The ceremony at Grace Church Downtown was everything. As Molly began walking down the aisle, the blinds in the church slowly raised and the most beautiful light came streaming in. The whole room felt it, and it is one of those wedding moments I will never stop thinking about. Right in the middle of the ceremony, both families gathered together for prayer, and the Holy Spirit was truly felt in that room.
There were stunning white florals at the altar and the floral bridesmaid dresses were some of the most unique and fun I have ever seen at a wedding!!! The wedding party was big and FUN and brought so much joy to every single moment of the day as they celebrated their best friends starting their forever together.
My favorite part of their day was immediately after the cutting, instead of walking away, Molly and Alex personally served cake to every single one of their guests, almost like a receiving line. I have never seen that at a wedding before and it was the sweetest, most thoughtful touch that felt so them. It said everything about who they are as a couple and the way they love others.
This entire day was dreamy from start to finish and weddings like this make me take a moment to pause and relfect on just how much I love my job and the incredible people I get to serve through it.
